Hi John,
ReplyDeleteMay good fortune prevail upon you on raceday.
Just a couple things. First I really like your blog with it's upbeat and quirky inclutions particularly the "Sparrow" vid. The other thing I noticed and perhaps(likely in fact) you did not, is the swastika on the Budda's chest.Hmmmm, wonder whats that all about?
Bruce Jones
Hi Bruce,
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comments :)
The swastika is, unbeknownst to most people in our present society, a tremendously positive symbol. It was hijacked by the Nazi party in 1920 and, thus, came to be associated with that tragically misguided ideology. Here is a link explaining the true history of the swastika.

Thanks for that John,
DeleteYou are absolutely right. In fact in that particular Buddist reference it symbolizes Eternity......who knew?
You really do learn something new every day.
